For surface preparation, ensure the surface is dry, dust-free, and clean. Also, remove flaky paint and sand using a specialised wire brush or emery paper (180 grit). Next, apply primer and cover minor cracks using wall putty. Lastly, re-prime, sand with emery paper (320 grit), and clean the surface again.
Before application, mix the wall distemper colour combination in a 3:2 ratio. Blend 3 parts to 2 parts water by weight. Apply 2-3 coats with approximately 4-6 hours between coats. For application, use a brush, roller, or spray. Stir thoroughly before use and let it dry before every new coat.
There are several factors to consider when choosing between distemper paints and emulsion paints. Let’s understand the differences: distemper vs emulsion.
The major element is affordability — distemper paint is a budget-friendly and reasonable option. Ideal for bathrooms and kitchens, distemper paint prevents moisture build-up and mold growth. On the other hand, emulsion paint offers better coverage and more durability. Ideal for high-traffic areas such as the foyer and living rooms. In terms of flaking, distemper paint is more prone to flake and chalk, whereas emulsion paints can easily trap moisture.
Distemper paint such as JK Jumbo Acrylic Distemper is a water-paint formulated for better coverage at a lower budget. Emulsion paint, on the other hand, is polymer-based paint that provides a smoother, richer and more refined finish.
JK Jumbo Acrylic Distemper is an ideal paint choice for ceilings, living and bedrooms. It’s suitable for economical wall coverage.
Distemper is a cost-effective, high-performance paint for interior dry areas such as bedrooms, living rooms and ceilings. Mostly used in rental properties prefer cost-effective distemper over expensive emulsions.
Distemper paints are affordable and budget-friendly, whereas emulsion offers advanced formulation at an expensive price.
